Fred began painting in watercolor in 1992. An Aerospace Engineer by trade, he took art classes at a local college for relaxation.

Fred continued his studies with artists such as Terry Madden, Tom Lynch, Betty Denton, Nan Rae, Milford Zornes, Tony Couch, Sally Seago, Heiner Hertling and others. Art soon became a new career.

After retiring, his wife and he traveled for about nine years, painting in plein air, doing art fairs, demonstrating art at art associations, and conducting art workshops.

Fred known as a colorist for his use of color.
