Pastels/AcrylicJohn Webster

“My inspiration comes from the quiet beauty of everyday moments—sunlight filtering through trees, or moments in nature that I have observed.”
All through his busy life, John has been drawn to expressing himself through art. He carved ice, and he has worked in pen and ink, acrylics, watercolor and pastels. He has a unique eye for the beauty found in simple things and loves to illustrate this unassuming beauty.
As an artist working in pastels and acrylics, John captures the tension between fleeting moments and enduring emotions, drawing viewers into vibrant, textured worlds. His recent exploration of pastels, a medium he’s embracing with fresh curiosity, allows him to blend soft, luminous layers that evoke the ephemerality of light and memory.
In contrast, his acrylic works employ bold, structured brushstrokes to convey depth and permanence, grounding his compositions in a sense of place.
John’s inspiration comes from the quiet beauty of everyday moments—sunlight filtering through trees, or moments in nature that he has observed. He truly believe that we catch a glimpse of heaven here on earth daily, and it is his obligation and joy to capture these moments on canvas.
John is currently a licensed massage therapist and owner of Redlands Massage Therapy here in Redlands, CA. He specializes in medical massage therapy and its various modalities to heal the physical and emotional damage that has been experienced by an individual.
John is a native of Southern California and is married to the love of his life, Lisa Webster. He has three grown children and five grandchildren.
