Cecile SmithJewelry

Cecile Smith began WAYback When Creations in 2003 after accidentally finding a book on coiled wire jewelry in a bead shop bargain bin. After several years of making and successfully selling her coiled wire creations, she became bored with the medium and expanded into the realm of chain maille jewelry, which is now one of her two specialties.
Basing her work on traditional chain maille weaves dating back centuries to the time of the Knights, who used chain maille made from large, heavy, thick metal rings as protective armor, she has adapted those traditional weaves, as well as more modern weaves, into light-weight aluminum earrings, bracelets, anklets, and necklaces in a rainbow of brilliant colors.
Also, after being introduced to the world of machine embroidery, usually used to decorate clothing, bags, hats, towels, and other items, Cecile has adapted the technique to create embroidered earrings, bracelets, ornaments, and bookmarks, as well as towels.
Cecile enjoys creating custom items, so if you don’t see exactly what you would like at her display, please ask!
