Aleksei has loved stones for as long as he can remember. Like many kids, he was always picking up colorful rocks and bringing them home. When he was five or six, he spent time on the shore of the Black Sea collecting small orange-red pieces of carnelian. He kept them for years, and they eventually became decorations in his aquarium.

When Aleksei first came to California in 2017, he was amazed by the variety of landscapes and nature here. It also brought back his childhood fascination with stones. At first, he simply enjoyed looking for interesting rocks in the mountains, deserts, and along the ocean. Then he became curious about what they would look like cut and polished. Little by little, he learned how to work with them, and eventually he started turning his stones into jewelry.

Aleksei enjoys working with natural stones because no two are ever exactly alike. He tries not to change them more than necessary. Instead, he chooses the shape and setting that bring out the colors, patterns, and character already hidden inside the stone. That means every piece he makes is a little different.
