CARR GARNETT painted as a child. He grew up on a farm in Virginia where he was surrounded by gorgeous landscapes such as the Blue Ridge Mountains and the rolling hills of horse country.
After grad school in theatre and a few years teaching at Tulane University, Carr relocated to New York City and designed costumes for theatre and television…..Later, knowing that he wanted to “get back to
nature” he then worked as a gardener/garden designer in the Hudson Valley.
Upon retirement Carr decided to move to Southern California. Having taken several painting workshops on Catalina Island he knew that he was drawn to the landscape. He is now happily doing plein air painting and is in thrall to the great California painters of the last 150 years.
