“I love to express the beauty of landscapes in the various cities I have lived in and long to live in. It is like a memoir, a love note, and a prayer through art.”
Mona is a watercolor artist based in California. Her art is transformative from Damascene or Ajami painting (traces of traditional handcraft) to the freedom of watercolor, where she intends to express themes of humanity, identity, culture, and faith. Mona trained with Karin Harris for years and currently trains with Holly Warner.
She is a member of Watercolor West, Redlands Art Association and Coachella Valley Watercolor Society. I entered her work into various juried shows and won first place award at CVWS 2021 and CVWS Kathleen Scoggins prestigious Demonstrator’s Choice Award in 2024. She has work displayed at The Artist Center, The Galen, Redlands Art Association, and La Quinta Art Studio and various galleries in the East Coast.
Mona enjoys nature and loves to garden so naturally landscapes are her favorite subjects although she has an appreciation for abstract art. she combines art techniques to convey powerful messages that evoke emotions and perhaps start a new conversation.
