Yolanda love textiles. The colors, the textures the movement. She loves the way they envelope, protect and delight us. Such a delicate and humble thing, a length of thread, becomes cloth, becomes clothing, furniture and art.
When she creates her weavings she feels as though she is having a conversation with these “threads”. She starts the conversation with color and texture and the cloth comes alive and responds and it’s “off to the races”!
Weaving is a slow meditative process but she also finds it to be exciting as it grows into something more than she imagined. It is a great joy to be able to create in this way and it is her hope that her work/play inspires and brings joy to others.
